The Mediterranean is home to more than 3300 islands and is broken up between the west and the east mediterranean sea. The Mediterranean has more than 900,000 miles cubic miles of water. The Mediterranean separates Europe, Africa and Asia. Wildlife in the Mediterranean include ed deer, badgers, common toads, adders and greater flamingos. The Mediterranean Sea itself is home to wildlife including killer whales, humpback whales, seals, dolphins and white sharks. The Mediterranean is most known for being an important historic trade path and a strong factor in the development of the region.
